Fiat Yamaha rider Valentino Rossi has won the Brno MotoGP race after team-mate Jorge Lorenzo crashed out of the lead.

Rossi led unchallenged from the start, until Lorenzo caught up midway through the race. Lorenzo was able to pass the reigning world champion but crashed out towards the end of the race under ongoing pressure from Valentino Rossi.

Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa finished second, 15 seconds adrift of Valentino Rossi.

Honda rider Toni Elias took the last step on the podium after a long battle with Andrea Dovizioso.

Brit James Toseland finished ninth after starting from 14th on the grid.
