Andrea Dovizioso wants more Honda help

Andrea Dovizioso has pleaded with Honda for more new parts after his successful debut on a new RC212V chassis in Barcelona last week.

The Italian topped the timesheets during a one-day test at the Montmelo circuit in Spain last week, Dovizioso using a new chassis that helped his Repsol Honda machine improve on initial turning. But while thrilled at finally seeing some development step with his factory V4 machine, Dovizioso is hoping that HRC continues to improve.

“I’m so happy because to improve in this area is not easy and Honda has worked well. But even though it is not easy we need to improve in many other points. We are always requesting things but it is not so easy. I’m getting closer to the front and now I’ve asked them to solve the stability when braking in a straight line and also to improve the turning.

“We need to improve the character of the engine, but I don’t know what the next step will be.”

The former world 125GP champion goes into Saturday’s Dutch GP at Assen searching for his first rostrum for Repsol Honda. He’s finished fourth in the last three races, each time losing third by less than three-quarters-of-a-second.
