British rookie Matt Hoyle has escaped injury in a crash on the second day of 125GP testing at the Jerez circuit in Spain.

Hoyle lost the front end of his Chinese-backed Haojue machine at Turn 10 in the stadium section of the Jerez track.

The former Red Bull Rookies Cup rider walked away from the spill as he ended the second day with a best time of 1.53.355.

That left him down in 26th place on the timesheets but three seconds quicker than he managed on the opening day.

He told MCN: “It was a strange crash but I actually lost the front coming out of the corner and not going in on the brakes. Luckily I’m fine.

“I’ve been working on my style a bit today too and I need to be a bit more aggressive just to try and make the bike behave a little bit differently to try and make bigger steps forward. Right now the bike is leading me a bit too much.

“Tomorrow is the last day of testing and we’ll focus mainly on the chassis, trying to make the bike turn quicker.”
