Indy MotoGP: Scott Redding to start from third

1 of 1

Brit Scott Redding will start tomorrow’s Moto2 race at Indianapolis from third on the grid after dominating most of the practice and qualifying sessions.

The Marc VDS Racing rider was fastest in all practice sessions and looked odds on to take pole during qualifying.

Redding was on top, but team-mate Hector Faubel knocked him off top spot with less than a minute to go – pushing the young Brit back to second.

Julian Simon then rode a stunning lap to beat both Marc VDS Racing riders and take the top spot with the chequered flag out.

Current championship leader Toni Elias low-sided with 10 minutes remaining and was unable to challenge for pole position. Elias will start from sixth on the grid.
