Jorge Lorenzo has confirmed to MCN that he is unlikely to make the next pre-season testing following a broken right hand in a motocross training accident on February 12.

Lorenzo, 22, was speaking exclusively to MCN at a Dainese exhibition in Paris last week.

He said: “This is the worst injury that could happen to me, it is like a footballer losing the ability to kick a ball.”

Lorenzo is doubtful that he will make the next pre-season test at Qatar but is hopeful for a comeback at the first MotoGP race in Qatar on April 11.

The star suffered a fracture at the base of the first metacarpal and a displaced thumb.
