German MotoGP: Marquez takes Moto2 win

Kalex rider Stefan Bradl was denied victory at his home Grand Prix after a race long battle with championship rival Marc Marquez.

Marquez pulled away from thie field early on in the race, and looked like he wouldn’t be pushed for the victory, but Bradl moved up to second and sooned reeled the Spaniard in. Both riders swapped places several times throughout the race, with Alex de Angelis quietly stalking both riders in third place.

Brit Bradley Smith got away from the line quick enough, but ran on at the first corner, relegating himself to the back of the pack. Smith rejoined the race to move up as far as 18th place, with a points finish in his sights, but he crashed out in the final stages of the race.

Fellow Brit Scott Redding looked more like his old self, the Suter rider finishing seventh.
