Stefan Bradl looking to kick Moto2 habits

Moto2 world champion Stefan Bradl admits he needs to kick old habits to become a consistent top 10 threat in MotoGP after an encouraging debut on Honda’s new RC213V machine in Sepang recently.

The German was 11th quickest but only a second slower than Valentino Rossi in fifth with a best time of 2.01.894.

Having made his MotoGP debut in Valencia back in November on an old 800cc Honda, it was HRC’s envied seamless shift gearbox that caught his attention over the power and speed of the generation 1000s.

He said: “The gearbox is unbelievable. It changes gears in no time at all and there is no movement in the bike even when it is leaned over. But I still have to adapt my style. It is still too much Moto2. I need to ride with less corner speed and concentrate on acceleration.”
