Damian Cudlin joins PBM for Aragon

Aussie Damian Cudlin will bring a fresh perspective to the British-built PBM MotoGP frame when he joins Paul Bird’s premier class squad at this weekend’s Motorland Aragon clash in Spain.

The 30-year-old, who has previous MotoGP experience as a stand-in rider for Pramac Ducati at the end of 2011, will replace Colombian Yonny Hernandez, who ironically has joined Pramac for the final five races of 2013 in place of injury-hit Ben Spies.

Cudlin will also join the Paul Bird Motorsport squad for his home round at Phillip Island on October 21, but it is believed that Bird will draft in British rider Alex Lowes for the final two races in Japan and Valencia.

As was first revealed by MCN from the Indianapolis round in late August, Lowes is expected to move to the PBM MotoGP squad in 2014.

Cudlin will definitely race the PBM chassis this weekend, with British rider Michael Laverty moving onto the Aprilia ART machine vacated by Hernandez after the last race in Misano.

Laverty has scored points only once on the GPMS designed and built frame in his rookie season and he feels he will have a stronger chance of challenging closer to the front of the CRT pack on the ART machine.
