Qatar Moto2: Cortese fastest as times go slower

1 of 1

Former world champion Sandro Cortese was the fastest Moto2 of day two, as windy conditions meant many of the top riders in the 600cc class were able to improve on their times from yesterday.

Cortese’s 2’00.579 lap was fractionally slower than times set on the opening day by Takaai Nakagami and Tito Rabat, leaving Cortese third and Donimique Aegerter fourth in the overall times.

World champions Maverick Vinales Thomas Luthi were fifth and sixth to ensure a mix of Kalex and Suter bikes in the front two rows. Sam Lowes was 12th, improving over yesterday’s session as he continues the development of the Speed Up bike, while Gino Rea was in 26th, failing to improve on yesterday’s times.
