Kent working hard ahead of Jerez

Moto3 championship leader Danny Kent is looking to make it a hat-trick of victories at next weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez. The Englishman has dominated the last two Grand Prix in North and South America and consolidating that speed at Jerez to take another victory would give him crucial an early season advantage in the lightweight class.

“It’s good to lead the championship,” said Kent. “But it’s only the third race and we need to keep our feet on the ground because it’s going to be close but if we can continue being this strong we’ll be there. We’ve got a two week break now so I’ll go home and work on my fitness and get ready for Jerez.”

When asked to assess his Argentine win Kent gave a resounding response by saying that it was the best race of his career and that the team has been “working really hard and that’s paid off for us. We didn’t just win this race, we dominated it. I didn’t expect to open a ten second lead but all weekend we’ve had the pace.”

Consolidating a 17 point lead over his teammate, Efren Vazquez, will be the first goal for Kent as he gets used to having a target on his back as the fastest man in the Moto3 class.
