Bradl gears up for Aprilia debut

It’s not easy to jump onto a new bike at a Grand Prix weekend and expect to be fast but Stefan Bradl is looking forward to the challenge this weekend in Indianapolis. Having been announced as Marco Melandri’s replacement for the remainder of the year the German is excited about his debut on the RS-GP.

“I can’t wait to get to Indianapolis and start this new adventure,” said Bradl. “It obviously won’t be easy at the beginning and I’ll need to get used to a new team and a new bike so my goals in this first Grand Prix are to get to know the mechanics and familiarise myself with the way the bike performs.”

Adding to Bradl’s challenge for this weekend is his recovery from a fractured wrist but he’s confident that this won’t be an issue having missed the previous round of the championship, his home race in Germany.

“The situation with my wrist is good and I’m very pleased because my hand is no longer giving me problems. Lately I have been able to do the same training programme that I was doing before the injury. I’ve been Motocross training lately to check my sensations on the bike.”
