Elias to replace Abraham at Indy

Toni Elias will deputise for Karel Abraham at next weekend’s Indianapolis Grand Prix with the Czech rider once again sitting out due to injury. Abraham fractured his toe in Catalunya and the team missed the following round in Assen with Hiroshi Aoyama replacing him last time out in Germany.

Elias, the inaugural Moto2 champion, has won one race in MotoGP but been out of favour this year with his only outing last weekend’s Suzuka 8 Hours. Elias had signed to race in World Superbikes once again this year but the deal fell through at the last minute.
