Crutchlow dislocates ankle in crash

Cal Crutchlow dislocated his ankle when he crashed out of Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix. The LCR Honda rider had been running a very strong fifth in the race before his spill at the high speed Aribiata corner.

“My foot got caught in the back of the bike which dislocated my ankle,” said Crutchlow afterwards. I’m in a lot of pain with this incredible swelling in the outside of the right ankle. We’ll have to monitor the situation from now but I got the right treatment from the doctors at the circuit and also the Clinica Mobile. So obviously I’m really disappointed. It was a good race and a good showing and you know Honda are working very hard for us to improve. We need to come back in Barcelona hopefully stronger again.”

No time frame has been offered for his recovery.
