Antonelli continues to set Motegi pace

1 of 1

Niccolo Antonelli continues to look in superb form at Motegi with the Italian setting a storming pace ahead of qualifying to lead the way by three tenths of as second from Brad Binder. The South African has seen his fortunes improved considerably by the introduction of a new KTM chassis at Misano and used the softer tyre at the end of the session to set his time. Miguel Oliviera, Binder’s teammate, used the medium tyre at the end of the session to set his fastest time.

Danny Kent was sixth fastest, half a second slower than Antonelli, but with Enea Bastiainini suffering his second crash of the weekend Kent looks well placed to move ever closer to a first world title.

John McPhee was 17th fastest.
