Lorenzo shades Marquez in final practice

Jorge Lorenzo continued to set the pace in FP4 but the gap to the Honda’s dwindled with Marc Marquez coming closest to Lorenzo’s pace ahead of Dani Pedrosa. Lorenzo completed 14 laps and looked strong throughout the session while setting his fastest time midway through the 30 minutes.

Andrea Dovizioso was fourth fastest with Valentino Rossi rounding out the top five in front of his home crowd. At the moment Rossi doesn’t look to have the pace to challenge Lorenzo and Marquez but in race trim he might be competitive given his consistency.

Scott Redding was the leading British rider in seventh position but the Marc VDS rider will need to make his way through the Q1 minefield.
