Sam Lowes says he’s out to get his Moto2 world championship campaign back on track this weekend in the Netherlands, when the series moves to Grand Prix racing’s most historic venue, Assen.

A circuit that Lowes knows well from his World Supersport days, the Federal Oil Gresini rider says its time to get his season back on track after being forced to settle for sixth last time out in Barcelona.

“I can’t wait for Assen, after last race we need to come and fight for the win there. We have been working hard off the track and we know that we can do a good job in Assen!

“I enjoy the circuit, some parts of the track suit my style and I always had a good feeling there in the past. I’m happy to get there and see my team again and start work on the bike!”

Team boss Fausto Gresini echoed his sentiments, admitting that they need a strong weekend now to rebuild the momentum of the opening rounds of the season.

“In the last two races we collected less than we expected, so we arrive in the Netherlands even more determined to return to fight for the win: Assen is another track that Sam really likes, so we hope to be strong again. Our target is to stay in front and we think we have all it takes to succeed.”
