1 of 1

Aron Canet has taken the top spot on the opening day of Moto3 action at the Catalan Grand Prix, finishing well clear of the morning’s fastest man Romano Fenati. Fenati led the early session in damp conditions, but in the afternoon was unable to close the gap to Canet and ended the day 0.287 behind.

Joan Mir rounded out the provisional front row ahead of the Team Sky VR46 duo of Nicolo Bulega and Andrea Migno in fourth and fifth, with Jorge Martin coming in behind them in sixth.

Enea Bastianini, Toba Suzuki, Bo Bendsneyder and Marco Bezzecchi rounded out the top ten, while British Talent Cup Honda rider John McPhee came home in 19th.
