Team Sky KTM rider Migno was the closest to the South African title leader, finishing the day only 0.096 behind, with Enea Bastianini, the man who topped free practice one, in third behind the two KTMs.

Bagnaia made it three manufacturers in the top four on the Aspar Mahindra, ahead of Nicolo Bulega and Fabio Di Giannantonio.

Scotsman John McPhee was 23rd on the Saxoprint Peugeot, after struggling early in the day with technical problems, but is confident of an improvement for qualifying.
