MotoGP: Rossi out to make amends

Valentino Rossi says he’s out to make amends this weekend in Brno, after missing out to teammate Jorge Lorenzo on the chance for a podium finish last weekend at the Austrian Grand Prix.

Taking valuable points off title rival Marc Marquez, however, the nine-time champion says that now they need to keep up last weekend’s momentum at a track that he enjoys.

“I like that we go back on track immediately. In Austria I wanted to get on the podium but I wasn‘t able to so unfortunately. Anyway, it was a good race. After the tests we were a little bit in trouble but during the race we didn‘t do so badly.

“Now we go to Brno, a track that we know well and that I like very much. Last year Jorge was much faster than me and I’m curious to see if this year I will do better. We are working well and the Brno GP is close. I want to get back on track!”

And while the Czech circuit has been baked in glorious sunshine so far this weekend, the weather may play into Rossi’s hands. With heavy rain forecast for Sunday’s race, the Italian may be able to take advantage of that to close the gap to teammate Lorenzo even further, as his wet weather performance continues to suffer.
