KTM riders Brad Binder and Romano Fenati have denied local Jules Danilo the chance to top the opening day of action at Le Mans, after setting fast laps at the end of the days second session to demote him to third.

However, it’s close at the front, with the last-to-first winner of the last race Binder only 0.076 ahead of the Sky VR46 KTM of Fenati, with Danilo a further 0.084 behind after following teammate Niccolo Antonelli to his fast lap.

Jorge Navarro was fourth, ahead of the second Sky VR46 bike of Nicolo Bulega in fifth and a surprise appearance in sixth for Hiroko Ono on the Honda Team Asia machine.

Andrea Locatelli, Franco Bagnaia, Jakub Kornfeil and Livio Loi rounded out the top ten, while the classes’ only British rider, John McPhee, was 24th at his Peugeot machine’s home race.
