Gary Johnson gets factory Kawasaki with GBmoto

Double TT winner Gary Johnson will become a factory-supported rider for the 2015 Isle of Man TT, as the Lincolnshireman teams up with MCE British Superbike team JG Speedfit GBmoto.

Johnson took his second TT win last June on the Smiths Triumph in their first ever Isle of Man TT, before a 120mph crash in the subsequent Superstock TT ended his race week.

He’ll now be reunited with the GBmoto squad he campaigned in the National Superstock 1000 championship for back in 2011. Speaking exclusively to MCN, he says he’s full of confidence ahead of next June’s races.

“I am a million times more confident going into the TT than ever before. Now, on this package, I have no one to fear. It’s a fantastic opportunity to be working with a great team and so closely with a major manufacturer.”

Kawasaki UK Racing coordinator Ross Burridge added: “We’re in the fortunate position of being aided by Kawasaki Motors Europe and in particular by Ichiro Yoda, the Kawasaki WSB guru. With his MotoGP and WSB heritage, we feel Yoda-san will be incredibly beneficial.”
