Manx Grand Prix racer David Taylor, who was seriously injured during Friday’s Senior race at the Isle of Man event, has sadly succumbed to his injuries.

The Yorkshireman, an experienced Manx Grand Prix competitor, crashed towards the end of Friday’s race at Brandywell, one of a number of incidents that brought a premature end to the race.

Harvey Garton, Chairman of the Manx Motorcycle Club, was quick to praise the well-known and well-liked racer from Sheffield.

“David was a well respected person and rider who was liked by all. His enthusiasm for the Manx was well known, and, due to this and his attitude to riding the Mountain Circuit, the MMCC appointed David as one of its Ambassadors – a role which he took to with his usual great enthusiasm.

“He had missed being at the Manx since 2012 and looked forward to riding again this year. David will be missed by all involved with the Manx Grand Prix and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.”

Motorcycle News joins the race organisers and the wider racing community in wishing our deepest symapthies with David’s family, friends, team and supporters.
