Moodie back in the saddle

It’s been more than a year, but Jim Moodie has finally returned to full-on riding action in preparation for the World Supersport season.

He has been out of action recovering from a badly smashed ankle.

” It felt great to be riding again. My ankle feels fine, even after a hard couple of days of riding, which is something I thought at times last year would never be the case, ” he said.

Moodie and team-mate Rob Frost were at Almeria in Spain for three days this week, setting up their Yamaha R6s ready for official testing at Valencia later this month.

” It took me all morning to get back into the swing of riding a bike again – it’s amazing how fast a race bike feels when you haven’t ridden for so long, ” said Moodie. No times were available from the test.

Moodie had three major operations last year after smashing his ankle in a crash at Albacete at the end of 2000. He was high-sided when his Spanish-run Ducati 748 blew lubricant on to his rear tyre.
