Scot Iain MacPherson has landed Pere Riba’s vacant Honda World Supersport ride.

MacPherson clinched a deal with the Dutch-based Ten Kate team on Monday morning after Riba quit on Friday to take up Alex Criville’s works Yamaha 500 ride in GPs.

MacPherson was due to ride a Yamaha R6 for OPCM, run by reigning world sidecar champion Klaus Klaffenbock. MacPherson had lost his works ride with Kawasaki at the end of last season.

MacPherson has ridden for Ten Kate before when he campaigned a CBR600 in the Thunderbike series back in 1996. He will join Fabien Foret for the season’s opener in Valencia on Sunday.

More on this in MCN, out on Wednesday.
