Noriyuki Haga has promised his British fans explosive action at the Silverstone round on Sunday, May 29, 2005, after admitting his season has been lacklustre so far.

“So far I have not been able to get the right feeling witht he bike,” said Haga. “I think that we can make big improvements. Last year I won three out of four races in Britain and I always like to ride in front of the British fans. I know I will have big support and I want to give them something to cheer. So far this year I have only been ‘Normal Nori’…. but I want to be ‘Nitro Nori’ again!”

Haga will be riding alongside his Yamaha Motor Italia team-mate, Andrew Pitt, who is confident following good pace at the previous round at Monza.

“Our straight line speed was good and we’re managing to make our tyres last much better,” said Pitt. “We always know that the first half of the season would be about development work. I think we can go to Silverstone confident of doing well.”

Also representing Yamaha will be the Motor France pairing of former GP start Norick Abe and Sebastien Gimbert.

Yamaha machinery has won the World Supersport races at the Northamptonshire circuit twice in the last three years. This year sees Kevin Curtain and Broc Parkes aiming to continue their good run of results.
