1 of 1

Noriyuki Haga improved on his second place in race one, to take a victory at Brands Hatch despite the close attention for Troy Bayliss throughout the race.

Bayliss pushed his Ducati to the limit, running across the grass kink on the start finish straight but despite swapping places with the Japanese Yamaha rider several times, could not overcome him in the closing stages.

Andrew Pitt took third, clear of Regis Laconi, who overcame Britain’s James Toseland in the closing stages. Toseland managed to stay ahead of Troy Corser to claim fifth, as fellow Brit Chris Walker took eight place. Craig Jones retired on the Foggy Petronas. To see the full results list, click here.

Race one:Troy Bayliss has won the first World Superbike race at Brands Hatch, overcoming a touch battle with Noriyuki Haga before building a gap as Haga then battled with James Toseland.

Bayliss and Haga swapped places several times in the early stages, as neither was able to make a break. But the arrival of a hard-charging Toseland was the chance Bayliss needed, as Toseland and Haga tangled each other up in the fight for second, with Toseland eventually coming out on top.

Chris Walker finished a creditable seventh, challenging Troy Corser in the closing stages, while Tommy Hill had an impressive race long battle for ninth with riders including Regis Laconi, Ruben Xaus, and Lorenzo Lanzi. Hill eventually finished in 11th. For the full time sheet, click here.

World Supersport: Broc Parkes took a dominant win in the Supersport class, but Kevin Curtain’s second place ties Sebastien Charpentier at the top of the title table. Curtain battled throughout the race to pass Sofuoglu, as Charpentier dropped out of the top four with a mid-race problem which cost him around one second per lap.

That problem eventually dropped him to sixth as the chassing dueo of Robin Harms and British wildcard Cal Crutchlow came past on the last lap, with Crutchlow riding around the outside of the Frenchman at Sheene curve to take a fine fifth place.

His team-mate Leon Camier was 10th, with Tom Tunstall 20th. Stuart Easton retired.

The win went to Scassa from Polita and Badovini.Top Brit was Greg Sanders in 11th, with Richard Cooper in 12th and Jon Boy Lee in 19th. For the full results list, click here.
