Corser tops first day

1 of 1

Troy Corser has put in the best time on the first day of WSB testing at Phillip Island, clocking a time just 0.1 seconds off the 2005 best race lap.

Six-times American superbike champion took the second fastest time just 0.3 seconds behind Corser followed by Yukio Kagayama over a second down.

Mladin is at Phillip Island after missing two official AMA tests through an ankle injury and it looks like he might miss the rest of this test as well after crashing and totalling his bike.

Steve Martin put in a good show on the Foggy Petronas machine, finishing equal to Kagayama. Yamaha France trio of Norick Abe, Sebastien Gimbert and Shinichi Nakatomi all finished ahead of second Foggy rider Craig Jones.
