Bayliss tops Brno times

1 of 1

Troy Bayliss has topped the three days of World Superbike testing at Brno with a fastest time of 2:00 on qualifying tyres.

The current WSB title leader also recorded a time of 2:00.8 on race rubber, with both times under the existing Brno Superbike lap records. This was enough for the team to finish the test early, skipping the final afternoon session, with Lorenzo Lanzi finishing sixth overall.

“My long-run was 39 seconds quicker than last year’s time so I’m feeling pretty good about things,” said Bayliss. “I’m in good spirit and looking forward to racing at misano next week.”

Britain’s Chris Walker was second quickest with a time of 2:01.0 on qualifying tyres on the PSG-1 Kawasaki, with Karl Muggeridge third quickest as he and team-mate James Toseland worked on a new electronics package which includes traction control. Title challenger Troy Corser was forced to sit out the testing due to chickenpox, but team-mates Yukio Kagayama and fabien Foret were both riding at Brno.
