Roberts out of superstock

Brendan Roberts has been ruled out of the Superstock 1000 race in Valencia race after completing just two laps in free practice today (Friday, April 13).

The Xerox Ducati Junior team rider has been undergoing intensive physiotherapy on his injured right wrist since his testing crash in March, but after missing the opening round at Donington two weeks ago, he is still unfit to ride.

Roberts said: “I went out and managed to do about two laps, but I just don’t have any throttle control and I was all over the place.

“If it had been fully wet there is a chance I could have done more laps but it would have still been unlikely I could have raced.”

The Australian now faces a battle to be fit for the third round of the series at Assen at the end of the month.

He added: “The physiotherapy I’ve had has been going well and if I can make a bit of a break through there is a chance I could ride at Assen.

“The thing is that I’m not going to go out there unless I have a chance of scoring at least a couple of points.”
