Britain’s Craig Jones produced his best performance of the weekend so far to go third quickest in the second World Supersport free practice at Brands Hatch this morning.

The Reve Ekerold Honda Racing rider was near the top of the timesheets for the entire 45 minute session with his best lap of 1:29.140 coming on his 19th outing around the Kent circuit.

He was initially quickest out of the pits to record a 1:30.191 before the session was temporarily stopped after Yamaha’s David Salom had a bad crash just a few minutes in to the practice.

After the restart Hannspree Ten Kate Honda’s Kenan Sofuoglu soon took control to record a 1:29.704, just under a second quicker than his best qualifying time from yesterday.

By the end of the session Kenan Sofuoglu had posted a 1:28.958 to keep him as the fastest rider on the circuit.

Provisional pole man Sebastien Charpentier was second this morning after recording a best time of 1:29.134. This is 0.8secs off his best qualifying time from yesterday.

Britian’s second rider, Yamaha’s Tommy Hill was fifth fastest with a 1:29.441 as he continues to impress in his first weekend of World Supersport.
