An emotional James Toseland has won race one of the World Superbikes round at Brands Hatch.

The Brit got a storming start in to third place and it only took him a few laps to make his way to the front and hold the lead to the line.

Toseland eventually won the race by a massive margin ahead of second placed man Troy Corser. Max Biaggi took the final place on the podium.

Ducati’s Troy Corser initially took the lead from the start of the race with fellow country man Troy Corser hot on his heels.

Hannspree Ten Kate Honda’s James Toseland slipped in to third spot but was soon past Troy Corser on laps two.

From there Troy Bayliss was in his sights and the pair began battling from Paddock Hill bend. James Toseland got the better of Troy Bayliss at Druids and passed the Ducati rider on lap three.

On lap four Troy Bayliss’ race was to end as he slid off just a lap later at the same point where he had lost his lead.

James Toseland continues to break away from second placed Noriyuki Haga and has a 2.063sec lead after lap 14.

Yamaha’s Noriyuki Haga came off his bike at Surtees on lap 17 but managd to rejoin the race in 10th and eventually worked his way back a few places for a respectable seventh.

By this point James Toseland had managed to secure a 4.611sec advantage ahead of second placed Troy Corser.

James Toseland certainly enjoyed his final lap as he waved to the thousands of fans at the circuit. Although this made some nervous as Troy corser was catching him he still took the victory by 1.554secs.
