Troy Bayliss leads Misano World Superbike final qualifying

Troy Bayliss posted the fastest time in the final qualifying session of the Misano round of World Superbikes, posting a time of 1:35.395 on the factory Xerox Ducati.

He demoted Tory Corser, with whom he had swapped places throughout the session. Corser had to settle for second quickest, with 1:35.637. Lorenzo Lanzi was third fastest on the second Xerox Ducati, followed by Max Biaggi on the Alstare Suzuki

Ruben Xaus was fifth fastest from Yukio Kagayama, Noriyuki Haga and Michel Fabrizio. Britain’s James Toseland could only manage ninth, but that will see him take part in ther afternoon Superpole session to decide the grid for the top 16.
