The two day official Pirelli test in Brno got underway today (Tuesday) with all the World Superbike top men out in force working on updated parts and new specification Pirelli tyres.

At midway point of the first day Britain’s James Toseland (Honda) and reigning world champion Troy Bayliss (Ducati) are setting the early pace now that the track has fully dried after early morning rain.

Whilst Troy Bayliss continues to fine tune his unchanged Xerox Ducati, James Toseland and his Hannspreee Ten Kate Honda team are using the two days to evaluate new advanced electronics packages.

After reaching the limits of their current Honda electronics the team have received an updated version which they are experimenting with today.

They have also received the latest version of the Pectal PI system which they plan to test tomorrow.

The aim of the new electronics is to give the team greater adjustability and to control the fierce engine braking on the powerful Hannspree Ten Kate Honda.

In Supersport Steve Martin is back in action for the Yamaha World Supersport team following fellow Aussie Anthony West leaving the team to join Kawasaki in MotoGP.
