Video: World Supersport: Good progress for Triumph in Qatar

The SC Caracchi team has spent the opening two days of the Qatar test getting the Triumph 675 up to speed with Australian riders Garry McCoy and Paul Young.

With only one bike between both riders track time has been limited, but they have still been able to make good progress.

On the opening day the team used a standard engine fitted with Triumph’s race kit, but by day two the riders benefited from a different clutch and engine internals to boost power courtesy of Paul Young who’s been racing a Triumph 675 in British Supersport for the last two years.

And MCN’s World Superbikes reporter has been speaking to Garry McCoy at the Losail Circuit in Qatar, check out the video below.

Due to the fact they only have one bike, the team have been reluctant to experiment too much with engine performance as a mechanical failure would bring an end their test.

Instead a lot of work has been done on the chassis with Garry McCoy taking two seconds off his lap time from day one to post a 2min 05sec on day two.

Paul Young made an even bigger jump slashing his day one time by five seconds to post a 2min 07sec on day two.
