French World Supersport: Kenan Sofuoglu takes pole at Magny Cours as Tommy Hill qualifies fourth

Kenan Sofuoglu smashed the outright World Supersport lap record to take his fifth pole position of 2007. Sofuoglu had to fight off strong challenges from his own team-mate Sebastian Charpentier and Yamaha’s Broc Parkes.

Broc Parkes’ best lap was also under last years lap record but only good enough to secure second place. Early pole sitter Charpentier was another man on the pace but a crash at the end of the session prevented him trying for one last fast lap and he had to settle for third.

Britons Tommy Hill continued his impressive transition to a World Supersport bike by claiming his first front row grid positions for tomorrows 22 lap race.

Craig Jones looked set for a second row start but was relegated to ninth in the final few minutes so will start from the third row of the grid tomorrow.
