Phillip Island World Superbikes: Yamaha's dominate free practice

Noriyuki Haga showed no ill effects of his sore wrist following his race one crash in Qatar last weekend to top the timesheets in the opening free practice session in Phillip Island.

On a virtually dry track following overnight rain, Noriyuki Haga’s best lap was over 1.5 seconds outside the lap record.

Haga’s team-mate Troy Corser made it a good day for Yamaha who are desperate to bounce back from their disappointing results in Qatar.

Series leader Troy Bayliss finished third with Alstare Suzuki man Max Neukirchner now fully recovered from a heavy cold to take fourth.

The Sterilgarda Ducati pairing of Ruben Xaus and Max Biaggi rounded out the top six.
