Mixed day for Walker and Laverty at Croft test

Brits Chris Walker and Eugene Laverty completed a one day test at the Croft circuit on Wednesday to prepare for this weekend World Superbike round at Donington Park.

Walker was desperate to get more time on the VentAxia VK Honda after making his return to the WSB championship at Brands Hatch last month.

Unfortunately the former Kawasaki rider only got to complete five flying laps before the session was red flagged and was then forced to pack up after heavy rain hit the circuit.

Eugene Laverty makes a dramatic debut in the World Supersport championship riding the factory Yamaha as a replacement for the injured Fabien Foret.

Laverty suffered a heavy crash on only his third lap when he was caught out by the increased amount of engine braking compared to his Aprilia he rides in 250GP’s.

The young Ulsterman was fortunately uninjured and returned to the track onboard the spare bike where he got dialled back in to riding a Supersport machine.
