1 of 1

Following a testing crash at Snetterton this week factory Kawasaki rider Broc Parkes will miss this weekends WSB race at Assen.

His untimely injury has led to the inform BSB rider Stuart Easton getting the call up to replace Parkes, with the 24 year old Scott already in Assen preparing for this weekend s WSB races.

Easton who rides for the Hydrex Honda team in BSB is also the Kawasaki WSB test and development rider meaning he is no stranger to the bike and working with the team.

He said: “It’s a brilliant opportunity for me an when the call came in from team boss Paul Bird, I didn’t need to be asked twice.

“I’m really looking forward to working with the team in a race environment rather than just testing”

In the testing crash at Sneterton, Parkes sustained shoulder damage and is expected to have surgery today (Thursday).

The injury comes as a bitter blow to the 27 year old Australian, who secured the teams first top ten finish at Valencia three weeks ago.

Easton’s arrival into WSB makes it six British riders in the class where he’ll be riding alongside Leon Haslam, Tom Sykes, Jonathan Rea, Shane Byrne and Tommy Hill.

How can Easton do in Assen? Will he be able to beat his team-mate Makoto Tamada? Can he finish ahead of any of the other Brits? Post your comment below.
