WSS Assen: Crutchlow and Laverty on the pace

2009 race winners Cal Crutchlow and Eugene Laverty made promising starts to the Assen race weekend with both men running at the front throughout the hour long session. Crutchlow swapped positions with Kawasaki rider Joan Lascorz and ended up second. The Yamaha rider only used one tyre throughout the session and has clearly got to grips with the Dutch circuit.

Laverty finished the day half a second off the pace and in fourth position. The Parkalgar Honda rider and his team have been able to make significant improvements to the balance and set-up of the bike since Valencia and the Irishman remains confident he can fight for the race wins on Sunday.
