Parkalgar WSB test: Pitt on top as track dries

World Champion Andrew Pitt set an impressive 1M 46.094s lap time to top the time sheets in the opening World Supersport test session of the day at the Parkalgar circuit in Portugal.

The Hannspree Ten Kate Honda man is still riding his title winning 2008 CBR600RR whilst he waits for the 2009 machine to be be fully prepared. 

Pitt said:“The feeling is OK, there are still a few wet patches around the track but I’ve just gone quicker than I did in the race last year so that’s positive. We’re testing a few little bits including electronics but we’re still waiting on the 2009 bikes to be finished.”

Team-mate and 2007 world champion Kenan Sofuoglu took second spot with Britain’s Cal Crutchlow pushing the two Honda riders all the way in third followed closely by new Kawasaki signing Joan Lascorz.

Eugene Laverty continued to work on the base setting of his 2009 specification Parkalgar Honda CBR600RR ending the session in 13th place.
