Parkalgar WSB test: Sofuoglu tops rain hit day three

Former World Supersport champion posted the fastest time of day three on a rapidly drying track at Parkalgar today.  

The Turkish rider on-board his 2008 specification Ten Kate Honda set a best time of 1m 47.314s, which was over two seconds slower than Kawasaki man Joan Lascorz’s day two best.

Britain’s Cal Crutchlow was fifth fastest today but leaves Portugal in high spirits having secured second overall on-board his factory Yamaha R6. Sofuoglu ended third overall with local man Miguel Praia an impressive fourth with world champion Andrew Pitt in fifth.

Eugene Laverty was seventh fastest on the day and sixth overall riding the Parkalgar Honda. The young Brit turned around his fortunes of day one and with an improved set-up clearly has the pace to run at the front.
