Xerox Ducati Boss Ernesto Marinelli believes Michel Fabrizio will be a genuine title contender in 2010. Now in his third year with the team Fabrizio finished third in the overall standings in 2009 having secured wins at Monza, Imola and Portimao.

With a total of four years experience in WSB, Marinelli has told MCN that the young Italian is ready to make the final step.

He said: “The weakness of Michel right now is his starts. Most of the races where he didn’t do well were because he made bad start. Every race where he starts well he is up there.

“In my opinion, Michel has a very big talent and he has proved that at times he can be faster than anyone. He has grown up year after year with Ducati and in 2010 I am expecting the last step from Michel and for sure he is one of the riders that will fight for the championship.”
