Max Biaggi posted the fastest lap time during the opening day of the two day test at Misano. Biaggi set a 1.36.4s best on the opening morning, which compares favourably to the low 1.36’s set by the Ducati team at the end of their test on Monday.

James Toseland and Sylvan Guintoli were the next fastest with Leon Haslam in fourth.

At 1.15pm local time a heavy rain shower the circuit causing the majority of on track action to continue. Troy Corser completed a hand full of laps onboard his BMW but declared it too slippery to ride.

He said: “Right now it’s no good and the bike is spinning all the way down the straight, it’s dried a bit but it’s not really wet enough for full wets.”

At 4pm local time the track was continuing to dry with action expected to get underway before the track closes at 5pm.
