Silverstone WSB: Sykes from Camier in opening Free practice

Tom Sykes was the fastest man out of the blocks in free practice session today at Silverstone setting the fastest  time of the 45 minutes session.

Sykes came under pressure from fellow Brit Leon Camier onboard the Fixi Crescent Suzuki in the dying minutes of the session, but was able to beat the Suzuki man on his final lap of the session.

Three Italians, Michel Fabrizio, Davide Giugliano and Marco Melandri secured the next three places with Pata Honda man Jonathan Rea in sixth spot.

First qualifying gets underway at 15.30 local time.
