Aragon WSS: Coghlan takes first ever pole

Scottish rider Kev Coghlan has taken his first ever pole position in World Supersport, taking his DMC Panavto Yamaha to the top spot at Aragon ahead of AMerican PJ Jacobsen.

Coghlan was 0.138 ahead of the Intermoto Ponyexpress Kawasaki of 2013 BSB podium finisher Jacobsen with a 2’01.662 lap of the Spanish circuit, only 0.009 ahead of third placed man Jules Cluzel on the MV Agusta.

Former multiple world champion Kenan Sofuoglu continues to suffer in the class, back in sixth place on his Mahi Racing Kawasaki behind Jacobsen’s teammate Florian Marino and Pata Honda rider Michael van der Mark.

Dubliner Jack Kennedy was in 13th, as the Irishman continues to recover from injuries sustained last month in testing prior to the opening round.
