Misano WSS: Cluzel breaks away to win in style

1 of 2

Jules Cluzel has taken another race win on the MV Agusta at Misano, taking the victory in a controlling style by breaking away from the off and crossing the chequered flag by 1.5 seconds despite a late charge from Michael van der Mark.

Van der Mark spent the early laps battling with Kenan Sofuoglu and American rookie PJ Jacobsen, but the fight allowed Cluzel to break out a gap, and the Frenchman controlled the race from well clear.

The Dutchman was forced to settle for second, with Jacobsen taking his first world championship podium finish in third, an impressive ride for the young American, holding off former champion Sofuoglu, who finished fourth.

Kev Coghlan was back in eighth, suffering from a poor qualifying that left him 12th on the grid. He remains fifth in the championship. Jack Kennedy was 12th on the CIA Insurance bike.
