Haslam: I need to change my riding style

Red Devils Roma Rider Leon Haslam says that a change in his riding style might be needed, after struggling with tyre issues in both races last weekend at the Assen round of the World Superbike championship.

Finishing off the podium in both races for the first time this season, he says he needs to address the issues ahead of Imola and Donington, two strong circuits for both him and the Aprilia RSV4.

“I was really disappointed. From lap 10 to lap 15 in both races, we caught the leaders and felt really confident, but then from Lap 15 to 21 we had no front grip in either race. We completely ripped up the tyre, even though we used the hardest tyre possible in race 2.

“Obviously it’s down to our setup and my riding style, how I was having to ride the bike, but we need to analyse this because I feel we could have challenged for a good podium. So having two fourth places is not ideal.”
