Sykes praises Sepang

Tom Sykes (KRT) was one of the few riders who did not go out in the wet second sessions on Friday, but he had no regrets about the decision. “It was a shame to have one session wiped off the weekend but there was not much meaning to go out,” said Sykes. “It was not wet enough to take a full wet set-up and it never dried out so we decided to sit that afternoon session out. In the first session we started off quite strongly.”

Despite being knocked off his bike last year at Sepang, by his own team-mate no less, Sykes is still a fan of the Malaysian circuit. “It is nice to be back in Sepang, with a really big wide circuit. It feels slow, the track makes the Superbike feel more of a tame machine. It is really nice, enjoyable and we had a good pace for session two, but unfortunately now we have to move that to free practice three, but it is the same for everybody.”
