Jonathan Rea (Kawasaki Racing Team) eased to the second race win at Misano, after changing to the same ‘A’ rear tyre all his opponents used in race one.

It was his 11th race win of 2014 and extended his championship points total to 133. Davide Giugliano (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati WSB) was the long-term leader but he had to succumb to the pace of Rea at the end of 21 hot laps.

Leon Haslam (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils) toughed it out for third place while Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati WSB) was a close fourth. Race one winner Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) placed fifth after having a good start from pole.

After sitting behind Jordi Torres (Aprilia Racing Team – Red Devils) for some time Max Biaggi (Aprilia Racing Team) finally passed the Spanish rider for sixth – and almost caught Sykes at the line in what was a remarkable comeback weekend.

Michele Pirro (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati WSB) went eighth and once more Sylvain Guintoli (Pata Honda WSB) outpaced Michael van der Mark (Pata Honda WSB) at the finish.

Leon Camier (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) was out of the points in 16th place and Alex Lowes (Voltcom Crescent Suzuki) did not finish the race.
