WSB: Bradl confident of success with new Fireblade

Stefan Bradl has said he is confident that the Red Bull Honda team will be able to make a success of the all-new Honda Fireblade SP2 despite the challenges they face after getting the bike just a few weeks before the start of testing.

Bradl and team-mate Nicky Hayden endured two difficult first tests with the new bike as the Ten Kate team worked tirelessly to ensure the new Fireblade is in the best shape possible for next week’s opening round at Phillip Island.

While he’s realistic about a tough start to the year as they spend time developing the new bike, the former Moto2 World Champion is confident of being able to fight at the sharp end and wants to do so as soon as possible.

“I’m really looking forward to the new season,” he said, talking at the team’s launch in Salzburg. “It’s a whole new experience for me and a new championship where I’ve never raced before. We have a new Fireblade for the season, so it will take a little bit of time to dial it in but we’ll do our best to take it to the top as soon as possible. All in all, it’s a great project and step by step we will make it successful.”
